Marukame Udon - Honolulu

Arrived at 4:30 for an early dinner and walked in with no problem. There was no line and about half the tables were full. Staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. The Onkama udon was very delicious and had zucchini tempura. Vegetarian friendly spot and great price point. Would go back!

Best Asian/Japanese style food in Honolulu. Very and cheap and yummy

An absolute MUST in Waikiki. Don’t be deterred by the line (there usually is one), it moves fast and is well worth it. We dined twice while visiting, once on the advice of a kind stranger and got the Kake with an egg (amazing), and then again got the Ontama (also amazing). My partner is vegetarian and they have a vegan option which looks spicy (and I think they claim it is) but is honestly relatively mild and quite delicious. The noodles are the real star here anyways. I was good with a regular bowl, no need for the large though my partner can be a bigger eater and finished his large both times. Tempura is pretty good too but the squid had a bit of a weird texture and I much preferred the shrimp. One of the best (and most budget friendly) meals we had while here!

Like the line up method, similar to subway but for udon! Taste is mediocre but the price is a bargain compared to other Hawaii restaurants.
