My son and I had dinner last night and the flavors were excellent and the portions were huge. We had the Maharani dinner for two and it could have fed four. In fact, three of us just had the leftovers for breakfast. The eggplant pakora appetizer had a super crispy bite with tender, flavorful eggplant inside. Easily enough for four. We really liked the Palak Paneer and the Chicken, Tika Masala, although my son, who really likes it spicy, wished he had asked them to crank up the heat. But we got some hot sauce on the side, and it was super tasty! Service was very friendly and super fast . This will continue to be my pick for Indian food when I am on Oahu. Oh they claim to have the largest nan bread you have ever seen and they are not wrong. Also it was the biggest mango lassi I’ve ever had (nice flavor too) and my son said it was his favorite iced chai that he’s ever had.
Much more bland than I expected. Nickel and dime on all the small things.
The food was amazing! Seriously so good ! Our waitress was awesome but, she seemed overloaded as they were extremely busy. I got the spicy lamb vindaloo, and my husband got the chicken tikka masala. Definitely recommend getting the 2 person meal because it comes with fresh naan bread and an appetizer.
We have good Asian food here in Hawaii, but lack some ethnic foods that are available on the east and West Coast At least we have Cafe Maharani for Indian an excellent Indian comfort food place where the food and atmosphere help you relax and enjoy with no pressure of any kind. Some of the reviews compared Maharani with other Indian restaurants, but the food is genuinely Indian, although Maharani may have a slightly different take on it. The food is excellent. Try the lanmb biryani and the tandoori boti kebab. Their lamb saag is also excellent.
Hands down the best Indian food on the island. We went for dinner and everything was delicious. We had the samosas, butter chicken, lamb masala, shrimp korma, and tandoori chicken along with the saffron rice and naan. Samosa and shrimp pakora for pupu. The curry had just the right amount of spice and very flavorful. This was the best lamb masala we have ever had. The service was excellent and Lia made sure our table of 8 was taken cared of. We will be coming back and recommending it to our family and friends.
