To me, the pastries were better than the coffee. They were excellent even when compared to great bakeries back on the mainland. I've had good Kona coffee before and the coffee here isn't significantly better or worse, so don't bother unless you get pastries. Don't get me wrong; the coffee is excellent. Not sure if a single cup of coffee is worth the line up. But if you do just a cup of coffee, here's a pro tip: line up here and also order online for the noodle place across the street at the same time. Once you're done here, go across the street and pick up your order where all the delivery guys pick up. You'll avoid 2 line ups, get a great Kona coffee, and you'll get a delicious take out lunch.
The pastries are great! The Kouign amann was amazing. We got the seasonal fruits one, and it was crispy and flavorful. The tartness of the fruits balanced out the greasiness perfectly.
We live across the Street. The Latte is my favorite. My Wife's orders afogato every single time. Long short wait time. It varies. But, it's worth it! Try the pastries too. Really good!
Saw this long line of people as I was walking down the street at 7am and figured how bad could the place be? Well it turns out pretty good is the answer. Never had Kona coffee before (I rarely drink coffee). It’s very, very good. Their pastries are also quite good. Had a chocolate croissant, regular croissant and a larger chocolate chip cookie. Best and most unhealthy breakfast I’ve had in a long time. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.
WOW! Some of the best coffee we’ve had in our travels. There will more than likely be a long line, but if you’re looking for good coffee, from drip to lattes or cortados. This is worth the wait! Play tag team and have someone wait in line while you go walk around the shops. The pastries were also perfection. I opted for the gluten free option of almond cake which paired perfectly with black coffee. Hubs went for a cinnamon roll and cortado… “no wonder the line was so long, worth it!”
