J&b Pizza - Honolulu

This place is a hidden gem in Manoa Marketplace. They seriously have the BEST vegetarian pizza I've ever had. It's their Veggie Deluxe. Their Supreme and Meatball Parm are also pretty AMAZING!! What I love most about their pizza is that it isn't greasy. They make their pizza with a cornmeal crust to give it an extra crisp or crunch to it.

My family and I were really feeling pizza the other night and didn't want to go to the norm (Pizza Hut). I did some searching on Yelp and found this joint that was only about 5 minutes from our house. We phone ordered and our pizza was ready within 20 minutes. Pick up was easy as there is so much parking at Manoa marketplace. So, the pizza! Oh my goodness, it was delicious! We got the Greek with chicken, supreme, two salads, and breadsticks. For the amount of food we got the prices were reasonable. Everything was so fresh and yummy. It's always those little hole in the wall places that are winners! Definitely recommend checking out this joint if you're in the Manoa area.

The location is convenient, and the pizza is tasty. However, after observing the pizza-making process, I won't be returning due to concerns about cleanliness. The staff touches a touch screen, then turns it around for customers to use, and proceed to make the pizza without washing their hands or wearing gloves. I couldn't tell if there was a sink available for handwashing. The touch screen was covered in fingerprints and looked unclean, reminiscent of a child's messy iPad screen. They also handle their cell phones, work phones, faces, hair, and doors, leading to significant cross-contamination. While the pizza tastes good, I certainly won't be dining here during the COVID-19 pandemic.
