So Ono!So Oishii!A pearl in an ocean of fast food.Nutritious, natural, local and the staff is so charming.Ask about the footwork special. ?
I Went to Coco Bloom Kitchen for the Shio-koji Pork Katsu Sando oh that sandwich was thick! and so good! it had great flavor and was really filling. The shop is a bit small but they were very nice, parking is readily available the decor in the shop is quite nice although I really only took one picture.Sadly I didn't get a pic of the sando once I opened it I just had to take a bite!
Picked up lunch today at Coco Bloom Kitchen in Kaimuki. Been searching for places that offer healthier options. Was super nice to see Chef Jun, formerly of Aloha Table and now at the helm of Coco Bloom! I went there to try their Aburi Miso Salmon Plate. Chef Jun sous-vide and then sauteed the salmon with their homemade miso sauce. Served with multi-grain rice, some greens, and choice of two sides. I picked the eggplant dashi and cinnamon roasted kabocha. Salmon was EXCELLENT! Moist and flavorful. Salmon x miso is always a wonderful combo. I found the chilled eggplant refreshing and tasty. I really enjoyed the cinnamon kabocha pairing but found the roasted kabocha to be kinda dry. I also tried their newest smoothie creation, Aloha Spring. It is made with Hibiscus Mamaki Tea, organic strawberry, local ginger, and agave. I loved the hits of ginger in this drink. I'm adding Coco Bloom Kitchen into my rotation of places to get lunch at during the work week and am excited to try the other items on the menu and all of their side dish options.
Disappointing considering what this place was with their Sando (Sandwich) which were excellent !! They just changed from Sando 's to curry plates . They were only taking online orders so I ordered while just outside the store with only 1 customer trying to order at the counter, I ordered a beef curry bowl and waited 25 minutes for order to appear. Sadly when I got home I had the wrong bowl , I had chopped hamburger in a thick dry curry sauce with a soft boiled egg which was refrigerator cold on top the chopped hamburger curry, I was suppose to have rice and a bowl of beef curry . The chopped curry hamburger was definitely no where near the taste of the Japan Coco Curry which I thought would be due to similarity of the name COCO CURRY . Anyway , the serving was small and potato chips were a little stale . Bring back the Sandos !!!Service :Was good probably only had one guy taking order and also cooking seem so as it took so long to make my curry bowl. Also they only three customers with one bowl order and we all had to waist the same time as all three bowls came out at the same time which would make me think that they were short on staff . The guy was very nice and helpful . Ambiance: While waiting the 25 minutes for our food I sat at a small table with two other customers who were waiting for their bowls , the place was really warm kind of unbearable and the door was only half open which I dont know why might be because the only person we seen in the place was in the back probably cooking most of the time, I really feel for the guy who seem to me was the owner or manager as I know that getting good help is getting harder to find these days . . Good luck coco Curry and hope this review helps with my hope for improving the dinning experience I that had at your dinner .
