We were very disappointed because, 2 months prior to this trip, we were licking our chops for the Jalapeno Big Mouth beer! Our luck. They were out and didn't know when it'd be back. We're hoping they have it on tap before we leave Oct 1, but it didn't sound like it. Anyway, we sat at the bar, not very busy and Ashley the bartender took good care of us and kept an eye on our beers, always ready to pour another one. She was very friendly and seemed very appreciative that we chose WB for our visit. We're always happy to be appreciated and not taken for granted. So we'll go back another night to see Ashley and have some more good beer!
Another visit to Waikiki; another visit to Waikiki Brewing Co Waikiki . On this occasion, I ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer $16.00 ; the prime rib French dip sandwich $21.00 ; and two Eee Pah IPAs 2 x $7.50/each . Tax was $2.45. This is the first time I 've noticed a kitchen surcharge $1.11 . Before gratuity, my ticket was $55.56. The coconut shrimp was reasonably moist inside; and there was a nice, coarse, crunchiness to the chewing experience. I usually do not order coconut shrimp anywhere . I most situations, the price to enjoyment ratio isn 't there for me. But on this occasion, I just wanted it. Thier interpretation of a French dip sandwich was tasty. But I felt it was expensive, given the serving size. Note: They allowed me to substitute fries for a small salad. If you read my intermittent submissions, you 'll see that I have eaten here more than once. I enjoy the environment, and I enjoy the variety of craft beers. When it comes to the food, all of the items are tasty. But some are a better value than others.
After passing by Waikiki Brewing several times during our vacation, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst dining experience we've ever had. Our server was extremely dismissive, taking the order of only one person at our table while completely ignoring the rest of us. When we finally managed to get her attention to place the full order, her attitude became even more unfriendly. We would have left right then, but we had to pay for the first round of drinks, and our server disappeared for an extended period afterward. The food was incredibly disappointing--over-salted to the point where it was inedible. Do yourself a favor and avoid the stress--skip this place and spend your time enjoying a better spot in Honolulu.
Great atmosphere food was very mid. The presentation of the ahi dip could of been better because they just threw a bag of potato chips on the plate. Beer selection was on the smaller side for a brewery.
First meal after landing in HNL, before checking into the Airbnb. Party of 6. The spread included Grilled Mahi-Mahi, Coconut Shrimp Fried Rice (pork belly optional add-on), Beachcomber Tacos (battered and blackened fish styles), Sesame Seared Ahi (option to add on coconut shrimp). They had other good-sounding items like poke nachos, pulled pork fries, and bbq. Not sure if I would go for a Sicilian-style pizza or a burger, clearly we leaned toward the seafood stuff. I enjoyed my seared ahi, but didn't ask if it was possible to upgrade to fried rice. Open-air seating. They do have an active brewery near the bar area. Restrooms were clean. Small parking lot in the back. Service was fine.
