We love eating Persian food so it was a must to find a place on holiday. We came across this place and it was pretty good. I was very happy. It was different from what we used to be at home, but still had a unique good taste. In my opinion, the chicken was cooked a little, but unlike all that was really good. Service was really good and fast and attentive. Sweet local atmosphere, small, intimate. I would definitely recommend.
No presentation, no placement, no standing to ensure that customer satisfaction is met. I wanted to love this place because I miss Persian food home. We had a beef cabob plate and a chicken cabob plate. And we got naan, grape leaves and saffron pudding. The plate below looks destroyed and the rice is spilled everywhere. In addition to the presentation, the food itself was below the average. I can't believe I showed up after eating the grape leaves. It was so disgusting. Beef kabob and chicken cabob were quite dry, but the taste is there. I think the only thing I could eat was the naan, rice and rice pudding. I give them 2 stars instead of 0 because the rice pudding is really the only redeeming dish they have. You probably wonder what my point of reference for good Persian food is. It is Fanoos Grill in Torrance CA or literally any other Persian restaurant that is not this place...
We landed on the island in the afternoon and I starved. We visited restaurants along the route to our hotel and discovered Bar Koko. At first it was hard to see and I thought it was the...interesting... hook bar at the corner and was a little skeptical. Although they share a bathroom with this hook bar, they are not actually the hook bar: they are a delicious little restaurant on the side. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs because the plates were a good size compared to what you get in Persian restaurants in California. We ordered the Koobideh and the chicken cabob plates together with the Pita bread. I don't think it was the usual long grain rice used in Persian cuisine, but the food was still super delicious. Our server was very friendly and let us even charge our phone behind the counter while we ate. Definitely recommend when you eat cracin Persian food in Honolulu!
This place is so disappointing. I order chicken eggplant and there was only chicken in there and look at that portion size didn't even fill my five year old daughter. I ordered two stews that had eggplant in it and none of it had eggplant and the cups were only half filled with The stews. These guys are stingy. I'm so disappointed. Not only that I found French fries in our stew instead of eggplants. Portion size are so small. Whoever is. Reading this review let me tell you. It is. It worth it. Take your money and run.
