As other reviews mention, the menu was completely disregarded. opal designed some really unique dishes! his wife really cooks, but we couldn't meet them. we had a tort and salad pack cup and a laksa nudel soup with a veggie rice dish as a entrees. I love the experience!
Opal is the owner and an amazing cook. always makes the dinge vegan for me and is usually one or two meat dishes for my non veg friends. usually about 3 courses. they will be filled and satisfied. opal likes to make a bit of a fool, so don't take the dinge too seriously! he is really dedicated to his craft and ensuring that everyone enjoys! I wish I could give him 5 stars
As others have explained, there is a menu, but the cook comes to everyone table and has a conversation with them about what they like to eat. I personally thought this approach was really funny, especially when they go with an open mind and trust that they get delicious vegan food. I was here only once, but it seems that they can leave their order until the chef's election or they can tell him exactly what they want, what the table has done next to us. I enjoyed our conversation about eating with the cook and he was extremely respectful of our vegans inquiries. if they want to keep it under a certain price, they can tell him to bring only 1 main dish (or whatever their limit can be). for price reference, we got 2 appetizers and 2 netzens, which were about $50 and all portion sizes were big. the 2 of us couldn't finish everything and had to fight. we got salad wraps with roasted tofu and sweet (the best dish we had) a roasted radishes/moushroom cake with seasoning and soaking on the top, a curry nudel dish (so tasty) and green beaning and aubergining in a garlic sauce over rice. everything was fantastic and I can't wait to come back!
Opal’s Thai is a little charming spot, that has a menu card, but you won’t be able to choose from it. When you have found want you would like to order the chef comes out and tells you off by saying “I got you, don’t worry”. You don’t know how much you get or how much you end up paying.
