The restaurant offers a wide variety of options, and you are sure to find something you enjoy. The prices are very reasonable. We read about this place in a Hawaii magazine and, even though it is a bit of a drive from Kona, the scenic drive is worth it. The malasadas here are the best we have had on any of the islands! They are large and filled with an abundance of cream. We tried all the flavors, but our favorite was the coconut. There is ample parking and seating, and you can even watch the malasadas being made. The restrooms are clean.
This newly opened donut shop is a wonderful addition to our small town. While it won't replace our beloved Malasadas, we now have two great options for sweet treats. The coffee and donuts were fresh and delicious, and the owner is very friendly and welcoming.
This restaurant is not as good as Punalu'u. The fillings are very disappointing and the place is overrated. It's basically a sugar doughnut with some filling. The strawberry filling tasted old and not fresh at all. We had Punalu'u on our way back from Volcano, and it was much better. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this place. Although affordable, it's not worth mentioning.
The line was out the door, but the fillings are not fresh ingredients. I ordered chocolate and received chocolate pudding. Customer service from the women was poor and I will not return
I'd give the malasadas a 4, but this is also a fast food place that serves burgers, plate lunches, smoothies, etc. (you get the picture). They have a see-thru kitchen where you can watch them making the malasadas. Also a small gift shop and clean restrooms.
