Bijas Vegetarian Yī Niàn Sù Shí

Located in the heart of HKU, Bijas is a Chinese vegetarian restaurant where you pay by weight. It caters primarily to students and faculty members, offering incredibly low prices and great value. While the setting may lack some frills, the food is worth it. We tried some items from the set menu and also enjoyed the buffet selection. The DIY veggie combo from the set menu was a steal at 36HKD, including noodles, three different vegetables, and a flavorful sauce, along with a side of seaweed soup. The buffet had a wide variety of options, all traditional Chinese vegetarian dishes. We filled our plates for under 50HKD, and with unlimited rice, soup, and tea/water, it was more than enough. It's worth noting that all options were vegan-friendly. The restaurant also has an inclusive hiring policy, which is a plus. The staff were friendly and pleasant. The venue has a university cafeteria-style vibe with harsh lighting and basic furnishings, and the bathrooms are located outside requiring a bit of a walk. Overall, if you find yourself on the university campus, Bijas is a solid choice for a satisfying and affordable meal. No complaints here!

I went to this restaurant for lunch with my work colleagues after attending a lecture at HKU. The prices were based on the weight of the food, which ended up being quite affordable. There was a wide variety of options to choose from. I can see myself eating here regularly if I were a student.

This restaurant offers exclusively Chinese vegetarian cuisine. The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful, exuding a sense of tranquility. The food is delicious and you pay based on the weight of your plate.
