A child could make better food than that any day, sorry Tatlows management should really consider getting new staff starting with a better cook to a more professional server. I would canthink even rate it as a 1 so i would say stay away from Tatlows
I have read many reviews of Tatlow’s on this site as well as other local review sites, and everyone raves about it, so we decided to visit. We found the food average and a bit cold. The menu is very extensive and there is lots to chose from. Everything seemed to be made from fresh ingredients (we had the smoked salmon eggs benny). Our review would have been 4 stars, but the restaurant’s physical appearance is tired, old and could use a good cleaning. The floors were filthy as were the bathrooms. Also, they appeared understaffed, but that did not affect our rating.
Never disappoints! Fresh and delicious. Piping hot Shak Shuka, Dungeness crab Benny. Manage to maintain prices reasonable in these days of inflation.
Everyone I have talked to about Tatlows raves about the food, so we thought that we would try it for dinner one evening. I thought that it was a bit on the pricy side, given its location and the service was good. I had the spicy Jambalaya and while it was extremely tasty, it was a bit on the salty side, so I am not sure if the chef had a bad night or if this is typical. I suspect that it is the former because if it wasn’t, people wouldn’t rave about it the way they do. They seem to have a great selection of variations on Eggs Benedict on their Sunday brunch menu but unfortunately, that is too far for us to travel for brunch.
First time during COVID to seat in (patio actually) and introduce my daughter to one of my places to eat and was not disappointed. Always ready to accommodate reasonable requests! When I pay for food, it better be excellent, and that is what I get here all the time.
