This restaurant is a great place to visit for a fun time!

This is not an ordinary village restaurant and, with its fine culinary experience, stands well above its weight. Moderate on a hill in Holcombe, its backdrop is the stuff of hardy landscapes.. a magnificent church, gardens beautifully restored and even a small wooden playground for those who are ready to share this experience with their children (Kids menu in the week). We have been several times and each time they push us into even our little pup (in pub area not restaurant). A man and a woman team with an extraordinary barman who presents nostalgic cocktails from (among others), his homemade gins. The food is exceptional... simple ingredients, magically transformed into perfection from their extensive gardens to your plate imagination and flair must surely be the mantra of the cook. This place easily hits every competition in Bath on food and/or service alone. I have long and hard thought about whether I was afraid to find no table next time, but I cannot deny that it deserves its success and that the 20-minute taxi from Bath is worth every time!

I've stopped cookies for a few years. Always nice to see my quirky friend Char whether it's neigent bar or pull a stump on the cool cartridge side of the bar. Then there is cookie....Go Brewers!! And free peanuts? Nice place to stop and chat, have some cocktails and of course, enjoy the games!

This small town hangout is fantastic. The people are great and the prices are fair. It's very clean and definitely our favorite hidden gem.
