They grow their own vegetables, which is a nice touch. Many tables are in full sun. Drink food. The menu is very extensive with fish vegetarian options. Hurra. We ordered a burger, salad a soup. All right. Great portions. Nice salad dress. The wedges with the burger were not so great. Extensive wine map. We also ordered a Deidesheim Rose at €21. Overall, I would return the garden plant for the extensive menu. Ideally, the restaurant should invest in more shades.
Great food in a farm location. Nice people, great local cuisine. Something difficult to achieve, but absolutely rewarding.
We came here with family for dinner on a Friday evening. You definitely have to make reservations or you won't be dining here; the restaurant is always packed. As it is off the beaten path, it is a definite must try if you are anywhere near the area. We enjoyed the location, ambience, and food but our waiter was not so good. Everyone was asked for the choice of beverage but somehow the waiter neglected to ask me for my choice, which he still did not notice when he served-up the drink order. We had the Pfalzer Teller (good) and the Sommer Flammkuchen (it arrived sans schinken and had to be remade; it was good). But the true gem was the desert! The Schwarzwald Kirschtorte was the best we have Ever eaten anywhere in Europe; it was truly divine!!! If you cannot go here to dine then at least buy a desert and take it with you!!!!
The concept is homegrown vegetables and fruits prepared and served in a garden setting. Everything tasted fresh, but there wasn't anything special about the dishes we ordered, they were just OK. Many of the tables in the garden have no shade, and we were there on one of the hottest days of the summer, so we were not particularly comfortably seated either. We changed tables once trying to find a little more shade. Really not worth going out of the way to get there.
You would never come across this place unless someone told you about it. You won't pass by it while driving in any of the towns in the area. It is in the farm fields. You can buy local produce at the shop there. The restaurant has many food options from lighter to heavy fare. They also have a multiple course meal option which the people at the table next to us had and said was very good. It's a very busy place all times of the day. They have a large seating capacity outside to handle the large crowds. Pricing is also reasonable!
