Amalfi Hobart

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Went for lunch with my husband. Ordered our meals. I had chicken grilled toastie and my husband spaghetti bol. We also ordered a skinny cappuccino and a fruit juice. The drinks came out with hot chocolate instead of coffee. Sent back. Whilst we waited the lady wa serving others and she knocked a bottle of water on top of some patrons. My meal arrived - no cutlery. Had to ask. My husbands was a no show. Finally it arrived for a cafe called Amalfi serving spaghetti Bol you think it would be OK. WRONG. Revolting. The sauce had been so watered down you could hardly see any red of tomatoes. My husband couldn't eat it all. The people next to us also had their drinks order mixed up. There are other places to go. Stay away

First visit to this eatery . Ordered pot black tea did myself & mother . I ordered Italian panini toasted chicken avocado cheese . My mother ordered scrabbled eggs with bacon n tomato relish . What arrived was absolutely appalling & disgusting . My toasted panini was cold n bottom half wax soggy all over . The avocado was a slight and I mean slight ( fingernail portion) of brown slither of sludge . No chicken whatsoever on one half on the roll ( which was cut in half) , thd other half the same ., and they charged $11.99 for the " privilege of eating it. My mums egg & bacon toastie wax also disgusting . The bread was hardly toasted . Completely soggy n covered in butter , the top and bottom of bread cold . There was no and I mean no scrabbled egg at all just a paper thin spread n the bacon had not been cooked , all the fat in the middle of piece of bacon raw too . The chutney was just spread all over plate n the piece of bread just upped in the middle of chutney . The cost of this " delightful " NOT meal $12,99 What an absolute joke .I brought this disgusting two plates to the attention of manager n thd Cook said " what's wrong with my food" ! My response was " take a look , it's obvious , u shld be ashamed serving up this appalling food . And having to point out thd bleeding obvious , he threw plates onto bench . Very nasty . Wld never ever recommend such disgusting food cafe as this place . Both my mother n I were shocked that they think it acceptable to provide such appalling risk to health with uncooked food also DISGUSTING !!!!Oh and we refused to pay for food as it was returned uneaten within few minutes being served to our table .

When ordering a meal for lunch, we did not expect to wait 45 minutes for delivery. I ordered fish, chips and salad, and was close to leaving after 30 minutes but was assured my meal was just coming. 15 minutes later it arrived, but no salad. After waiting so long and not wanting any further delays, decided to just enjoy my meal. I had nearly finished my meal when the salad arrived, which I declined as I had nearly finished eating. The meal was great, fish well cooked and the chips nice and crisp, but no salad. I do like to eat salad with my meal and not as another course.The service was friendly, even if difficult to understand with waiting staff with little English.

I stopped in for lunch in July 2014 at Amalfi in Hobart after walking around for ages trying to find a nice little eatery in one of the local shopping malls. The Amalfi seemed pretty popular as it was half full, so I made my way inside and took a table for one. After making my lunch selection it took me a good 10 minutes to get a waitress' attention to make my order. I ordered a vanilla milkshake and the smoked salmon bruschetta. The vanilla milkshake came pretty quickly, though much to my concern it was served a room temperature. Another long wait later and my smoked salmon bruschetta arrived - also at room temperature and with a questionable smell attached. It came with a price tag of $16 and was incredibly small. I thought the smell may have been that the large dollop of cream cheese underneath the salmon may have been blue, and therefore supposed to be that way, however, after tasting it I learned that it was in fact probably out of date. The salmon was crispy around the sides and also nowhere near fresh. As I was 6 months pregnant at the time, the quality of food was of massive concern for me and I started to feel sick at the thought of eating what had been put in front of me. I left without finishing my dodgy meal and was billed over $20 for the experience. I then spent the rest of the day in fear of ending up in hospital for having tasted but a small portion of the meal. Never, ever again!!!

Was a great time! I went this past Saturday and I had a great time learning how to Salsa, Bachata, Meringue, and much more!
