We arrived late in the afternoon and sat outside on the terrace overlooking the idyllic lake nestling between the deeply wooded slopes a most serene...and peaceful setting. The whole place is very beautifully decked out and richly furnished in wood to fit in with the local traditions. The food was excellent and served in a very appealing manner. Service was friendly. A lovely place I can highly recommend.
We arrived at what looks like a nice place to enjoy a drink and stare out into the beautiful lake and surroundings. We arrived just before 6 on a Saturday which is the evening opening time. Sitting outside, we were greeted by a waitress that...just asked for our order and disappeared inside. The drinks eventually come but no menu, no questions whether we wanted to eat. So we decided to go inside and ask for a table. The waitress proceeded to make it difficult without a reservation but managed to find us a table. The inside decoration has a chalet feel which is nice and cozy. However when the menu came, we were surprised by the prices. Assuming the food would be excellent as per the 4* rating and the prices, we really looked forward to our dinner. However we were disappointed with what arrived. The portions were very small. My rabbit was dry and my partner 's pork was still uncooked. We received our meals before the wine arrived and when it did, it was kept at a distance (held at the cash register). Needless to say we were disappointed with our experience of what is sold as a very high level restaurant at high prices.
I stayed in the hotel and ate there twice but have to say that although the food was nice, the menu was narrow and if I'm honest over priced you can get much better in the centre for you money
Loved the restaurant. Great food and great views. Ideal for a romantic getaway. Would particularly recommend the 8-course Gourmet meal they offer with aperitif in the wine cellar!
We spent one night in Titisee and stayed at the Alemannenhof. We had a very large three bedroom apartment with spectacular views over the lake a short walk from the actual hotel and restaurant. The food at the restaurant was very good friendly staff,...and breakfast (included in our room rate) was also terrific. Highly recommend this hotel and will return!
