But on entering I made the mistake of being honest and was told bluntly that we could only stay...for 30 minutes only if we're only having coffee. The lecture included being told that it is all on our website'. Even though the cafe was only 1/3 full and the front deck was completely empty. I found my friend outside round the corner and put at the end on a table. She too wasn't made to feel welcome on entering and was quite anxious now which didn't help to set the mood. Didn't help trying to have a conversation next to the train tracks! So no, after that we didn't stay for a meal or light snack. Perhaps next time, welcome your quests and perhaps they may be encouraged to stay a little longer. We definitely were not made to feel welcome at all. On leaving some 45 minutes later the areas were still light on patrons. My girlfriends reminded me there is a reason why we don't breakfast there any more lack of friendliness and service. I'll remember now though.
Came here on a whim for brunch one weekend. Was not disappointed! I had the gingerbread pikelets, very beautifully presented with a great mix of flavours. Our other dish was the chilli scrambled eggs, had a slight curry taste and wasnt overly spicy. This was with a side of chorizo, which was very tasty. The coffee was incredible one of the best we've had in Adelaide for a long time! Would definitely recommend and will be bringing our friends here
I often stop here for breakfast when in adelaide. Great coffee, friendly, quick service, great food and a nice little building with a fire burning!
Well like a lot of these "it" places for Sunday brunch, you have to queue to get a table. The wait wasn't so bad and at least there were chairs to sit on. Service was a bit slow and the food was colder than it should have been on arrival - the installation an/or use of heat lamps in the kitchen may help here. Overall a pleasant experience and a good place for people watching.
Have come here a few times now and I always get great service and awesome food. It's usually very busy but we came on a Monday for brunch and it was busy but not over the top with a line up. Coffee is great and I had the gingerbread waffles, damn delicious ( refer to photo- I also included a photo of the smashed avocado). Highly recommended. They take bookings. And if you're luck enough you can be seated where you can watch the trains whiz by. During weekends I recommend coming before 10am.
