This pub has an inherent drug problem. There’s people doing drugs upstairs on the pool table and downstairs in the toilets. It’s very clearly evident with the same people in and out of the toilets, acting strangely and continually sniffing. This isn’t even later on at night. Sunday afternoon when there’s children around is just the norm for it to occur. Then there’s the beer. The review below this one says the bitter is ok but the lager is poor. Everything is poor including the cider. One of the owners apparently is a bitter connoisseur. He might be of the cream flow variety as found in the likes of Wetherspoons but he’s certainly no connoisseur of proper real ale if he is prepared to serve up what they currently are. The choice of beer on the pumps is fine but it’s just the way it’s kept. They literally have no idea what they are doing in the cellar. The lager is completely undrinkable and literally stinks as if it’s out of date. Most noticeable is that there always used to be a group of 8 or so retired guys who regularly visited in the afternoons. All of them are bitter drinkers but they’ve stopped visiting and now frequent another village pub a few miles away due to the quality of the beer. I’m afraid I won’t be returning because the owners will not listen to the regulars about the beer.
The pub is only bothered about its bitter drinkers but the lager they are dishing out is virtually undrinkable. The bar staff just say the owners won’t do anything about it. They must be buying lager that is on its use by date because it’s shockingly poor. They aren’t tied to a brewery so clearly buying from the cheapest source. We used to go in as a group but our numbers have dwindled because of the lager. Nothing wrong with the building or the staff it’s just the beer. Terrible,
Bass and 2 guest ales served, very reasonable prices, and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Live Sport, Live Music, and loads of seating. beer garden is great too. However, food stopped about 2 years ago, and this pub is thriving off its beer drinkers. The only food offering are the fabulous cheese onion cobs ! :
We visited The Office at the end of a day exploring the local area. A lovely pub with friendly staff. We had a couple of drinks, but didn 't eat. Loved our view from the bar to the neighbour 's topiary! Very funny! You have to stop in for the view if nothing else! We no longer give anyone the finger , we say conifers !
