Hinoki - Hilton Head Island

The food at this restaurant was fantastic. Our group of 9 all enjoyed the teriyaki dishes and sushi. However, we were disappointed by the rude and grumpy bartender. The space itself is a bit outdated and the sound bounces off the walls, making it very loud. Despite these issues, we would still give the food a perfect score of 5 out of 5.

The Tonkotsu Ramen noodles were tasteless and the egg was watery and poorly cooked, not at all resembling authentic Ramen. The portion of Deluxe Sashimi was small for the high price. We were very disappointed and will not be returning. This place seems to receive high reviews, but we believe this is because the customers may not be familiar with the quality they should expect. I visited this restaurant with a friend two days ago. The host and waitress were both rude. The waitress barely made eye contact, interrupted us while we were ordering, and aggressively placed our food and drinks on the table before walking away without checking if we needed anything else. It felt like she didn't want to serve us. When we paid the bill and were still seated, the waitress glared at us from across the restaurant. It was a very uncomfortable experience and I will not be returning. The food was okay, but the service was unacceptable. I suggest hiring a more welcoming and less passive-aggressive staff.

Really enjoyed the flavors and atmosphere. This will be my HHI sushi go to from now on.Food: 4/5

The restraunt is kind of cool with pit tables but the actual food was so bland. Even the fried rice was burnt and we had to ask for another serving and even then it was so bland we questioned if it was actually fried rice. Even something as basic as the California roll is not worth the ridiculous pricing. This place is taking advantage of tourists.
