Gruby's New York Deli

Incredible deli food—no doubt about it. Having lived in South Carolina my entire life, I've frequently visited New York and New Jersey for over 30 years, so I know a good deli sandwich when I encounter one. This place really brings a taste of New York to Hilton Head. For breakfast, I enjoyed a coffee alongside a Taylor Pork Roll with cheese and a dippy egg on a Kaiser Roll. My wife ordered the large Beef Brisket Sandwich paired with sweet tea. The food was excellent, and the service from Giuseppe was top-notch. If the weather is nice, I highly recommend dining on the patio.

The food was not worth the high prices. The menu claimed that the portions were large, but both my husband and I disagreed. He enjoyed his corned beef and pastrami sandwich, which was generously filled, but my turkey, brie, and cranberry sandwich, though it resembled a homemade size, was just mediocre. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning at this price.

Cute little deli, perfect for a sit down breakfast or food for the road.

We’re visiting from NYC, and this place is exactly what we needed! The potato pancakes were delicious—some of the best we’ve ever had!

We had a corned beef special (cold). it was delicious. it was big enough for my husband and I to share.they will split a sandwich for you. there is only a $2 fee which is great. the sandwich was fresh. the staff checked to make sure everything was OK. not all restaurant do that today. they also have outside seating if you like.
