I am extremely disappointed in the recent changes at Paul's restaurant. The large signs indicating that chicken is no longer on the menu and the sudden switch to cash-only payments have left me feeling like the business is in decline. After 13 years of being a loyal customer, I have made the decision to never dine at Paul's again. This will be my last visit.
The food was excessively greasy and the service was awful. The dishes were dripping with oil and the staff were impolite and unfriendly when asked about it.
I visited a fish and chip shop on Friday evening to buy 2 large cod and 1 large chips. The chips were good, but the size of the cod did not meet my expectations. One cod was small and the other was medium, not large as I had requested. When I questioned the shop attendant about this, he insisted that they were both large. It was clear to me that he was trying to pass off the smaller portions as large because there were no other customers present. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience and do not plan to return anytime soon.
Don’t know how there are any reviews for less than 5 about this place. Best chippy for miles, top quality taste and the chip portion sizes are very few generous especially when compared to the competition. Just because the owner isn’t the most effervescent outgoing person doesn’t mean that he’s rude. It’s the quality of the food you go for, we’ve been going here for years and it’s not even our local chippy.
