Zeno's Cafe - Hillarys

Took my mother here for lunch on a day out. Got a lovely table out side overlooking the harbor was a great way to spend the day and relax. The food was very good  the chili mussels were defiantly a stand out. the only down side was a rather annoying seagull but had a great time.

The fiance and I had our first taste of Zenos cafe on the boardwalk I'm hillarys and I have to admit the food is pretty darn fine. I had the parmy and the authentic tomato sauce was the winner. The chicken could have done with a minute shorter for a moist piece of chicken. Along side was a little ceasar salad. It was ok but felt there was a slight fishy taste. The beef burger that the fiance had was pure luxury with great fresh flavors and the beef patty tasted so real and fresh. Overall the prices were steep but definitely worth the price. Staff was very friendly.

While Hillary's boat harbour has such fantastic views and an eatery every 10 paces it would have to be the most difficult place in Perth to find a decent restaurant. I have visited every venue over many decades, few have come close to impressing me in any way whatsoever. Zeno's cafe is about alI I can recommend to others for decent food and ambiance at an affordable price on the entire boardwalk. All of the various 'fish and chip' style meals served are quite well cooked and delivered promptly. The restaurant has been updated a few times over the years, I have always found it casual and very comfortable with the bonus of icy cold air conditioning at most times. I was disappointed when an old favourite of mine was removed from the menu, the 'Garlic Chicken', it was simple yet stunning to taste. The view of the harbour and large fish tank definitely add value to the restaurant, and staff are friendly and efficient. Amongst a plethora of disappointments at the harbour, this would have to be the rustic gem to visit.

One of the best service experiences I've witnessed in Perth in recent years! The service team was polite and friendly. Food was decent with good portion sizes though the excellent service made the food that much tastier. The staff and kitchen was also very accommodating for one of our kids with a serious gluten allergy and didn't treat us like pedantic hippies which was a nice change! The restaurant has a big fish tank in the middle of the room which was also a big hit with the kids. There was also a 20% off special for winter so will definitely try and head back here soon!
