We both ordered pasta dishes and out came fish dishes . There were only 2 other tables occupied and all were already eating their mains so not sure how you could mess that up. It didn't bother us as they did bring out the pasta dishes 15 minutes later. We did have to remind them about the water we requested when first sat down. Unfortunately I didn't discover until after we'd left that we were charged for the fish dishes which were slightly more expensive. It was only slightly higher but still annoying. I would still recommend trying the place as the food was good and appetising.
Ordered sourdough and 2 poached eggs, 1 egg and sourdough was served and about 5 minutes later another poached egg was brought out in a small bowl no reason really would have been happy to wait for both eggs and sourdough to be served together, or at least the second egg on sourdough will think twice before returning
I have been to this cafe and gift shop many times and have always received excellent food and service. They have an extensive range of food made on the premises which if anything is too tempting. The consistancy of the food has always been of a high standard. Some new young staff might be on a learning curve on minor points of service but the more senior staff more than compensate and take a real interest in their customers. We have used the gift section quite regularly for special gifts and hampers. During the times of Covid with only the take away service we enjoyed the meals they provided. This cafe has become one of our regular breakfast and lunch venues
We visited Anzac day 2022. The queue was long due to the added demand, as the neighbouring coffee shop was closed. We ate in with coffee and a cake. The coffee cups even the large size are incredibly small, they are clearly provided by the coffee supplier Julius Meini. I didn't have a issue with the long wait, I didn't have an issue with temp of the coffee, my issue isn't with the service at Darriwill Farm. Not as polished as it could be but survivable. The issue is the coffee, hardly any flavour, and stupidly small servings in the Julius Meini cups. I would have expect an espresso in the cup used not a cappuccino. Please get normal cups/mugs and better coffee. Geelong has some good local roasted Coffee unfortunately you don't and you don't use good local roasted Coffee. I sit at Gustos most weekends wondering why 63 Degrees is busy, why Gustos is busy and why Darriwill isn't as busy. Maybe its the coffee. Gosh even Bon Appetit is busy and I am not found of them either.
We were able to sit outside on a fine day and enjoy lunch. There is a sound menu offering a good variety of food. The coffee is excellent. Water is readily available.
