Clare was super helpful when making our advanced booking, accommodating my husband’s dietary requirements, helping to select the best day for our meal, very helpful and chatty. The food was sensational, starting with an outstanding smoked foam amuse bouche that complimented the Talisker wiskey sour cocktail we were supping perfectly. Clare’s passion for wine extends to a very comprehensive wine menu, and her guidance enabled us to select an amazing wine to complement our meal. The fish course of trout was my favourite, while the main Lamb was perfection and my husband’s preferred course. All in all it was a lovely relaxed evening with food that is clearly worth Michelin Guide status. Unlike other Michelin Guide or Starred restaurants our meal was very homely and not at all stuffy, served near the homely log burner. We had planned to walk back to our accommodation only a couple of miles or so away) but due to the inclement weather we very grateful for Clare’s kind offer to drop us home. Such a lovely touch to too off such a special evening!
We have been wanting to dine at this restaurant for a while now, and we finally had the chance to do so. It was a wonderful experience. Andy, the one who welcomed us, was a true professional and very friendly. He promptly seated us at our table. The restaurant is beautifully decorated...
See the hotel review, but the food hospitality are the reasons to keep coming back. Wonderful food, friendly hosts.
We had a delightful five-course meal at Coruisk House Restaurant, which is owned and operated by Ian and Claire. Ian, the chef, served up delicious dishes that were not only tasty but also beautifully presented. I was tempted to lick my plate clean! Claire was a wonderful host, providing excellent wine pairings for each course. The restaurant is situated in a charming house, and we were lucky enough to dine in the cozy living/dining room with a fireplace. The atmosphere was intimate and inviting. Next time, we plan to stay at their hotel so that we can fully enjoy the beauty and hospitality of this special place in Skye.
I find it amusing that the most overused adjective nowadays is 'stunning'. Everything is described as stunning, making it seem like people are walking around in a daze. Another overhyped phrase is 'experience'. The Isle of Skye, however, truly lives up to the term stunning. The views are outstanding and accessible without needing extreme fitness levels. Despite potential midges and tourist-congested roads, our experience at Coruisk House hotel was delightful. Owned by Iain and Clare, who have been running the restaurant with rooms for 13 years, the food is exquisite. Iain, a self-taught chef, creates dishes in the classic French style using locally sourced ingredients. The set menu is intelligent, cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. Each course was superb, with the lamb being a standout. The extensive wine list, heavily featuring Burgundy wines, adds to the dining experience. The price for the menu is £65 per person, excluding beverages. The restaurant is not a place to rush through dinner; take your time and savor the experience.
