Chocolate Cottage & Café - HIGHFIELDS

Great food, drinks and oh those chocolates. Al can be consumef while enjoying the landscape of the distant mountains. Lots of interesting shops that you can find that special something for your place, or gift for someone special. A huge grassy area in the center to provide lots of room for the youngsters to run about or enjoy yourself under the shade of the umbrellas.

We had a pesto chicken focaccia and the lamb shank special. All the flavours were amazing!!! The lamb fell of the bone!! We shared our meals and both thoroughly enjoyed them. Service was super quick, we sat outside under a tree, lovely and relaxing.

I was so looking forward to going to Chocolate Cottage imagining all those yummy chocolate products but despite its name the chocolate cottage offers very little in the way of chocolate. Sure there is an extensive range of hand made chocolates you can buy that look very pretty, but are overpriced and taste very ordinary. I must admit the non-chocolate food is very yummy and fresh but a little on a dear side. I also ordered a hot chocolate but it tasted like something you buy in a tin from the supermarket. I really think the Chocolate Cottage should offer a variety of chocolate drinks hot and cold, chocolate desserts, cakes, ice cream etc. If the owners lack imagination they should get some inspiration from Max Brenner or Lindt cafe lol. Apart from all my negative comments, the location of the cottage in Highfields is very nice, lovely outdoor courtyard with a view of the range (although somewhat blocked by a hedge and surrounding cottages). In all it was a nice afternoon despite my disappointment.

Outstanding service & brunch with a view... haven been taken out to brunch my mother inlaw and I dined with you enjoying a beautiful chai latte and 2 separate dishes. The poached eggs and avo n feta GF dish. The service was lovely and weather was perfect! I highly recommend the drive up here and do stay and browse the shops.. overall could not fault anything 110% would return thank you to all staff this past Sunday Jessi

We live locally to The Chocolate Cottage and regularly enjoy morning/afternoon tea here. They have the best cake selection in Highfields including gluten free options. Beautiful rolling lawn with views and speciality gift shops. Never fails to impress.
