I Am Nacho Mama - Hicksville

The hottest most humid place I have ever walked into. This place has been here years and the owner is too cheap to have the AC installed/fixed. You know how unpleasant it feels eating and dripping sweat on your food ? You guys are going to have a terrible summer.

The staff at the restaurant is so friendly and excited to share suggestions of items on the menu. The large servings of food is fresh and the empandas are made right in front of you. Everything looks clean with a bit of a rustic seating area that makes you feel like you're hanging out with your friends at their kitchen table. Based on a short conversation with the person taking my order, they seem to be a small family owned restaurant that just wants to serve you delicious food.

Honestly, a bit confused at the ratings. Was looking forward to my meal after reading the reviews. Picked up, $76.58 for 2 quesadillas, ground “sirloin” nachos, and BIY tacos. Quesadillas were decent. Freshly made, okay taste. Nachos got mushy but understandable with the pick up/delivery risk. The BIY tacos were so upsetting. I have to add a post image of what was almost a meal. Mama’s sauce is just mustard. Actually mustard. The service inside was great super friendly, and clean. Super sweet girl at counter. Ambiance if I ate there would probably be good as well. Just super underwhelmed with this takeout. Your prices DO NOT match the quality of food. I love a small mom pop shop, but unfortunately this ain’t it. Potential for a redo when I bring my bank account back up after taking out a small loan to pay the bill.P.S. $3.50 for the guac pictured. Stop. Just stop.

Awesome food and great service everything is made to order and we got our food literally 5 minutes after placing our order This was on a Saturday btw! The girl up front explained everything to us if we had any questions about the food. Drinks were refreshing, food was SEASONED and delicious. The owner was a very nice man he came around asking if everyone was good and even cleaned tables himself! It is simply remarkable to see someone as humble as him. Although the prices were a bit high the food and service was exceptional and well worth it. We left a tip and all of the staff thanked us. You can see that the employees are happy because it translate into their work and overall vibe. Great to see a place like this not only serving delicious food but also taking care of their employees.
