Mcguire's Pub - Hickory

This restaurant is consistently fantastic, with excellent food and exceptional service. It's my go-to spot for first dates.

This English-style pub is a fantastic spot to unwind, eat, and enjoy a drink. My wife and I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon while visiting from out of town and were greeted by the lovely server, Carrie. She was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We opted for the Special beers - a Saranac Tropical Storm IPA for her, and a Saranac Blueberry Blonde Ale for me, both of which were excellent. We also tried the Pub Chips from the appetizer menu, requesting them to be slightly soft, and they were cooked perfectly. The prices were reasonable as well. The pub even had a dart board available for entertainment. It can be a bit tricky to locate, as it is situated below street level in the front and lacks a sign at the back entrance. The back entrance parking lot is located across the street from the Crescent Cafe.

Popular place for pub food and drinks. Always satisfied with food and service. Have been coming here for thirty five years and it remains the same. Saint Patrick's Day is always crowded, so come early.

I typically visit this restaurant on Monday evenings for the trivia night. The food is amazing! I have never had a bad meal here, but you must try the Reuben sandwich. It's the best Reuben I've ever had outside of New York City, which is really saying something. And be sure to save room for the brownie!
