My wife politely asked if there was another table or we could wait. The hostess just looked at her dropped the menus on the table and walked away. She clearly heard her. We just stood there for a minute. She looked back at us frustrated. I walked back to her inside, I said politely, hey we can’t really sit with them in the full sun like that, can we sit upstairs or wait. She said no there’s nothing else and turned around and walked away. It did look like a cool place. We would have stayed had she not been so amazingly rude. Will not go back.
This is an awesome place to eat , fish and chips and the ceaser salad were excellent!!!
Among the worst service I have ever had at any establishment, ever. Beer and food were decent but when I went for a second beer, multiple people came behind the bar to get beers and left and not one looked at me, a guy standing with an empty glass clearly needing a refill. Meanwhile, a buddy of one of the bartenders walked up and immediately got served. Place in general was not terribly busy so no excuse. Probably won’t both coming back. I recommend you go to Hayesville if you want decent service.
Checked this place out on the recommendation of a good friend. I followed their page a little bit back and had been drooling over the regular specials I had seen posted on their Facebook page. We finally got the chance to try it live within person after eating with it eyes with high expectations. It's a laid back atmosphere with staff that pay attention to their tables even when they're busy. Before I get to the food, service was stupendous staff were clearly working hard and I hope they're getting paid for what they are delivering. It's rare you find a place that can accompany that with a really solid all around menu. Everything we saw come out of the kitchen looked amazing with great portions for the prices and killer flavors. Between my wife and I we had the Mexican corn, got honey bacon steaks, fish and chips, steak Cesar salad, churro cheese cake and tea tres leches cake. Mexican corns was a solid 10 out of 10. I've always wanted to try it, so I didn't have a basis for comparison from others, and it was so good, I got one for an appetizer and another with my main course. The Hot Honey Bacon was another killer starter, 9 out of 10. Killer flavor and portion. Only critique was heavy on the black pepper, AND it still didn't ruin anyhing. Now, the fish and chips. Oh it's just fried fish and fries. No sir, it is not! perfectly seasoned cooked and crispy without dry the fish out or the inside of the batter being slimy. Not to mention the homemade jalepeno tartar sauce that came with it, solid 10 out of 10 again. My wife had the steak ceasar. Fresh crisp greens and homemade ceasar dressing to die for. The steak was very well seasoned, deliclious even. My wife gave it an 8 out of 10 only because they steak was a little dry/overcooked. For me, the dry meat gave it a 7.5 out of 10. To be fair it's hard to keep steak that thin moist. We also tried one of their single serving desserts, the Churo Cheesecake and the Tres Leches cake. We each had half and both were equally sublime and worth ordering despite how full we were from the other course. Their tasty desserts means there's always room. I tried 5 of their beers, not a single bad beer, not a single bad dish. This place is deifnitely my favorite new place ive tried in a long time and worht the 90 minute drive from where we live. They also have specials every other night. We went on a night when they didn't have any specials. And I'm super excited to try go back when they do with a really great everyday menu that's this killer. Every layer of this place is well executed from the meal, to the beer, and the mountain views just of the highway near Hiawassee lake. I'll be back and telling all my friends about.
Wonderful space in a truly beautiful part of Georgia, but try to go when not too busy if you really want to sample the beers and get prompt food service. We were there for dinner on a Tuesday evening at was already pretty busy, which we had not expected on a mid-week evening. We had a variety of their street tacos, which were pretty good (though the wife said the Asada was pretty tough) and fairly large as well. I ordered three and could have easily gotten by with just two. The beer? I'd put it in the lower third of the craft breweries we've been to. Not the worst, but nothing that really stood out. I'd like to go back when they were not busy and really work through their beers, so maybe next trip to the area.
