The Horseshoe Inn - Herstmonceux

My wife and I absolutely love this restaurant! It's about a 20-minute drive from our home, but the trip is always worth it for a lovely dinner or drinks, especially on beautiful days when we enjoy dining in the garden. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food is delicious, and there’s plenty of variety to choose from. This is definitely our favorite pub, and we will always return!

We made a last-minute booking through Expedia and arrived within an hour. The room was small but comfortable, equipped with all the necessary amenities. We were very impressed. The black shell dish was excellent, and the chef even prepared something special at my partner's request. The cheeseboard was the best I’ve ever had! Breakfast was fantastic as well; I opted for the eggs benedict, and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. I would prefer a slightly better quality sink, but at £100 for a three-course dinner, with two guests, it was a great value overall.

Our room was comfortable, cozy, and impeccably clean, with a spotless bathroom. We enjoyed the most exquisite dinner in the evening, with a staff that was incredibly friendly and welcoming once again. They even managed to keep the surprise that my mother had covered our meal a secret until we went to pay. Breakfast the next morning was amazing and very satisfying. Maria must have been exhausted from her shift the night before, but she welcomed us back with a bright smile. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for her. Thank you for a wonderful stay! This charming place is definitely somewhere we plan to revisit, and it has been added to our list of favorite spots (which is saying a lot since we live over two hours away).

Great atmosphere with friendly, efficient staff. traditional dining house with great charm. excellent menu and well presented well cooked food. I was here only 30 years ago on the business and it was a pleasure to return for a leisure weekend stay and found it as charming and welcoming as I remembered it! well to see a young person wearing his call for a good customer service.

Lovely food, very good price and very nice evening friendly staff. We stopped on the way through as the exterior looked nice, worried the food would be overpriced but it wasn't. The kids food was delicious too. Would highly recommend.
