Boulangerie Ghysens - Herstal

Went there a couple of times. They have delicious vegan pastry and bread; we've never been disappointed. They can even make vegan pastry on demand. Friendly staff. Nice retro interior. A must go! Only bakery I know in the area that does vegan options (only on Sundays but you can always reserve). They do all the sweet things for events : Yule log, king cake, birthdays... plus regular croissants etc.

This is a traditional bakery with a good choice of vegan options, on request even during the week. If there is something specific you want in decent quantity, then it's best to reserve in advance. The taste of the koffiekoeken' is great, I had the same feeling, as I used to have, when I ate the non-vegan koffiekoeken'. These products are really a good transition for more cruelty free products and showing that there is nothing you have to give up on when you go vegan. I've a dream that one day, their proposal will be the standard in the Belgium bakeries. A must try, mainly to experience what they can make as vegan alternatives. I tasted them at A Vegan Sunday #2 in Liège.

Thanks to you to offer pastry shops totally different from what we usually taste vegan version. It was a delight! I'll come back and get some other little treats quickly. Thank you.
