What a beautiful experience! The flowers all over outside and well maintained grounds are the first upscale experience I encountered. The lobby changes the flowers everyday. There’s staff everywhere cleaning, asking if you need help, and overall helpful and polite! There is so much to do here for kids and adults. I didn’t come with children but wow, I wish I had brought them years ago to experience the daily activities and pools. Don’t have children? Well just go to the side pool that is reserved for adults while children play in main pool. The spa is absolutely a must if you are into massages: the robes alone and attention to detail was outstanding. 3 hiking trails right out the front door were relaxing while the husbands golfed. The food and drinks at Harvest were wonderful! The flower garden and butterfly conservatory was peaceful. And if that’s not enough, you get a full sized candy bar as you check in (one for each guest) and there are candy kiss bowls literally everywhere. I would go back in a heartbeat! Thank you, Dyan
I hate to write reviews like this, but I bring my family here at least 2x a year for 5 7 days. We always book a suite or rent an entire cottage. This time I was so disgusted with the quality of this once beautiful hotel with amazing service! The rooms/common areas are tired and worn and smell musty. The lights in my room were constantly flickering, the door didn’t close properly, and the staff isn’t as friendly or accommodating as they once were. I heard lots of talk among staff members about looking for new jobs in a different union, witnessed valet guys bickering, etc. The one bus to the park was leaking water from the air conditioning unit so bad it was like a faucet was turned on… What really set me off was the lack of basic service. This visit I booked the “high point suite” at a rate of 1, 365 /night. Well, in 5 nights, my room was serviced 2.5 times .5 because housekeeping seemingly left in a rush one day because it was half done . I requested towels that weren’t delivered over those 3 occurrences and they were delivered once 45 min later! No nightly then down service with chocolates any more, towels they give you are worn and had holes in quite a few!!!! Seriously, Hershey what is going on here??? Furthermore, there are quiet hours from 9pm to 8am posted around but not enforced. So I was subject to intoxicated guests at a function one evening till late at night and then the workers cleaning up with what sounded like carts being pushed into walls that continued throughout the night until 5am!!! Other drunk people arguing and slamming doors…. I have never experienced such a thing at the Hotel Hershey! I approached management about my concerns and got the canned responses “thank you for bringing this to our attention, we’ll discuss with that department” and a $200 credit on my account. This is more insulting, because all I wanted was my room freshened up not looking for a discount!! At the very least, the first time my room was skipped, they should’ve cleaned it and flagged my account. The next day, we received no towels and after 2 calls to the front desk, still nothing delivered. I then borrowed from a friend in another room since housekeeping was apparently gone… then to happen a third time is completely unacceptable! I’m certain holiday inn can do better than this! Mistakes happen, but after being at the park all day and to return to a dirty room and no towels to shower up for dinner is utter nonsense. Never stay in this suite as it is right by the common restaurant and conference room space which holds events late with no doors to block any noise and on the other side is the elevator which dings incessantly with guests leaving the events. The room also smells terribly like food cooking maybe over a kitchen and the door doesn’t close properly without giving an extra tug 2x returned to an open door! And the management is indifferent to any of these concerns. All in all the prices charged are no longer commensurate with the level of amenities received.
Very disappointed in the Hershey Hotel. The room was dated and the carpet felt damp in areas. The pool closed at 4 on a dreary day when there were many families there who were trying to entertain their toddlers. Not everyone is in Hershey to go to the park, so when you pay that much money for a resort experience, all parts of the facility should bend over backwards to accommodate people no matter what kind of weather.
I had never been to the Hotel Hershey or Hershey Park before and after this recent stay I am sorry that I had not. The Hotel Hershey is an upscale hotel that does not disappoint. Everything about the hotel was immaculate. The service, food, shops, grounds, gardens, etc. were beyond expectations. As expected, Hershey park was crowded...Saturday in the summer...but the wave pool and lazy river were disgusting and overcrowded. No fault of the park, the people were disgusting...leaving trash everywhere, no respect for others...I have had a better water park experience in a third world country. Once the water park was quickly experienced and we returned to the main park our experience improved. There were lines and next time I will purchase fast pass (did not know it existed until arriving) but everyone had a great time. If you are a roller coaster fan then you will not be disappointed. We are planning a return trip for Halloween.
I hate to pile on, but yes, recent reviews are true. This once lovely resort is really showing its age and is in desperate need of a major renovation. Rooms were always okay, way overpriced for what you fet, but the grounds, main areas, and service kind of made up for the price along with the nostalgia. This time, room in horrible shape. The toilet was broken, furniture was all scratched, stains on the carpet, bed sagging. Really unacceptable, but kind of expected given our recent stays. What was unexpected was the shape of the common areas. Like the rooms, the lobby, both main and Fountain, were worn and tired. The Iberian Lounge, a favorite of us, was hard to relax when dealing musty smell and worn furniture. I hope this place gets its act together for its centennial celebration just 10 years away. I would love to see this place restored to the grander that it once was. And with all due respect, who is monitoring these reviews please do not extend an offer for me to contact guest relations (been there, done that with nothing changing). Please take your energy and convince heads at Hershey Entertainment to get this renovation project underway. In the meantime, I’ll be searching for lodging elsewhere.
