Saigon Pho Style - Herndon

I've tried Pho at various places along the East Coast, and this one has some of the most flavorful broth I've ever tasted. I always go for #8, and the noodle texture is just right, while the meat is consistently tender. The atmosphere is never overly crowded, which I appreciate.

Ordered the Shaking Beef Entree with steamed rice. Very delicious and satisfying! Whether you are a fan of Vietnamese cuisine or want to try it for the first time, this is a great place. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely return the next time I am in the area.

This was some of the best pho I've had! The broth was worth the terrible wait and service. I think we went on a unique day though, where they were short on staff. Like I said, worth the wait! Great prices too. 5 stars if service was better

If you're seeking a unique twist on your favorite dish, Pho, then Saigon Pho Style is worth a try. We enjoyed the whole white meat chicken soup, which offered a refreshing change from what you find at most Pho restaurants. The soup had an intriguing flavor that I couldn't quite identify, but I suspect it may have included a hint of spicy cinnamon and ginger. It wasn't overly spicy or sweet—just enough to provide a pleasant change in taste. The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked, not overboiled. We also found the moving roasted Singapore noodles with tofu to be quite delicious. We'll definitely be returning. The restaurant can be somewhat tricky to locate, as it's tucked away in a slightly dimly lit shopping area.

What sets them apart is that they are the only vegan pho spot that offers a broth packed with roasted onions—no watered-down broth like many other places. There have been times when I drove 30 minutes just to wait ten more for the broth. I’ve tried to replicate their onion broth about six times and have spent around $100 on onions and spices trying to figure it out. Their secret is truly a mystery, but I really appreciate their skill! They've won “Best of Herndon” for the last five years, so I’m clearly not alone in my opinion. Having lived in the Herndon/Reston area for about 20 years—and knowing locals who have been here for 90 years—we all agree that this is the best pho restaurant around.
