Die Knolle - Herford

Service was a little slow but the beer was cold and the food was great so this is perfect for a relaxing evening out.

It is located at the side of the cityhall of Herford. The interior is very cozy, with small corners around a bar in the center. The menu card is long, all kind of dishes with potatoes, which gives the restaurant its name. The food is...good and quite big. They serve senior size dishes. Drinks of all kinds available. The prices are very reasonable. On weekdays they serve special dishes.

Die Knolle is a potato restaurant in the town of Herford in Northern Germany. The service is class, even to the point of speaking English and having menu cards in English and Dutch. My meal, which was on the upper limit of price and...a large German beer came to just over At no time were we rushed, the staff were very attentive without intruding. We'll worth a visit.

Everything comes with potatoes thus knolle or tuber great Rumpsteak and Pfifferlinge in season, reasonable prices and good service, international crowd, informal dress, pleasant atmosphere, ample parking in the city hall courtyard.

The Art Deco in this restaurant is amazing, creates such awe and wonder even just walking upstairs to the loo. I loved my baked cauliflower, with cream, cheese and bacon. Really tasty. And great wine too. As we arrived for lunch they were clearing away...what was, I guess, a breakfast buffet. It looked really impressive too. We will return!
