They quickly moved us to a different table without hesitation. The food was amazing, the service was excellent and friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect. The lamb main course and tart tatin dessert were absolutely divine. I will definitely be returning. Thank you!
A lovely restaurant, with delightful staff, and good food, but when we were there it was so incredibly cold! There was a fireplace in the restaurant, which annoyingly reminded us that we could have had more to drink, stayed longer, and enjoyed the whole experience more, if the fire had been lit and provided a little warmth!
We booked as a group after seeing reviews on the Boathouse for a evening meal whilst visiting Daylesford. The restaurant is in a lovely location and within easy walking distance from our accommodation but still opted for the car as very cold and a bit wet. They offer a fixed price menu with entree, main and dessert for $99 p/p. The restaurant was lovely and warm and staff on hand very polite and friendly. Overall very good service throughout the meal. The reviews are reflective of the quality of the food presented which was very nice and of a high standard. The duck and steak served as described medium. The Arancini entree very nice. Overall the meals were all really nice and enjoyable. I agree with previous reviewer the serving sizes are a bit on the skimpy side of things, particularly the seafood linguine as commented 2 prawns and only a small quantity of pasta (looked more spaghetti than linguine) but could not fault the taste. We would certainly recommend this restaurant and would happily return to re capture the experience.
Our food was very good. My steak was cooked beautifully. My sis's pasta was delicious although we would have expected more than just two prawns (even though they were large) for a seafood linguini and certainly did expect more pasta really needed to be twice the amount that was served. This was a set price for the lunch (or dinner) so I do not think you would get bigger meals for dinner. It was lacking in size.
We had a delicious meal at the Boathouse which is ideal for couples. Our Entrees included cured trout and pate. Both superb. For mains we both had the beef fillet which melted in your mouth. Desserts were crème brûlée and apple tartin which were both incredible. Decor is in keeping with a boathouse with a single scull and oars suspended from the ceiling and old photos on the wall. Worth a visit.
