Steak 'n Shake - Henrietta

I stopped at the gas station where the restaurant is located, but I didn't eat there—just got gas and used the restroom. I grew up going to Steak 'n Shake in St. Louis whenever we visited my father, and I always enjoyed the food. I just haven't had a chance to try out the newer restaurant yet.

The staff here is very friendly! The gentleman who worked there was attentive and accommodating to my son's requests for his shake. The food was delicious, and the place was clean as well.

I remember one time when I asked for ketchup; instead of handing it to me, she tried to pour it directly on my fries. When I insisted she just give it to me, she said it had to go in the bag—it felt like she was trying to make customers sick. In my opinion, this is the worst Steak ‘n Shake in the country. The cook always seems dirty, switching between handling raw meat and then prepared buns and vegetables. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t wash his hands after using the restroom.

I’ve visited this location countless times in the past, and it has always been a reliable spot for gas, clean restrooms, and affordable burgers. However, this time I wish I could give zero stars. We ordered our food inside but ended up eating in our truck. The inside was dirty, and everything I touched felt sticky. The employee's appearance resembled that of a diesel mechanic. Additionally, the prices on the menu are misleading; they charged us different amounts than what was listed. Unfortunately, the food made me feel sick. My husband's burger had a large piece of plastic in it, which led to him needing to pull over to throw up. It's really disappointing because Steak 'n Shake is usually so good!

Stopped by on a trip out of town, and I?m super pleased. Not only was the interior very new and modern eye candy, the tables and floors were clean and fresh to match. We were surprised by how quick the food came out, and the greatness of the food made upfor their shakes being unavailable at the time? all is well. The worst part is? I don?t think I?ll ever be able to eat a burgerwithout garlic sauce again- their garlic burger was too fantastic. Creamy, buttery, with well seasoned meat- and the veggietoppings I added were all very fresh and cool. Overall a wonderful experience. Thank you so much and have a stellar day!
