Witsend Resto Pub - Hemmingford

This is not a fancy restaurant and doesn't try to be. It's a friendly and sociable Public House with stone walls and wooden floors. A great selection of draft beers and excellent service with a decent selection of pub fare. Could be noisy on busy nights.

Went here for lunch, and waited OVER AN HOUR just to get menus and place our order!!! waited ANOTHER HOUR AND A HALF to get our meal! and then, some of it was screwed up. about THREE hours for lunch. what a nightmare! people on our tour went back on a different day (why they would do that is beyond comprehension), and they waited at least 1.5 hours for lunch, and it WAS NOT BUSY. the food was pretty good, but seriously, why is this restaurant still in business? AVOID!!!

Had lunch here during a bicycle ride in the area. It's a very nice venue for lunch especially on a nice day because you can sit outside. Clearly a popular place on the weekends for the locals. Nice selection of beer - both bottles and draft. And, the menu has something for everyone. We had portabello burger which was excellent and came with a pile of french fries.Restrooms were clean and the wait staff was very accommodating. The only negative was the long wait for our lunch - over 30 minutes after ordering. The place was not crowded when we ordered, but was packed by the time we got our lunch.I would recommend this place, but try to avoid during peak lunch time.
