We've been coming here for years not as much as we used to, especially after 2020. We came in after picking up my son from school and we immediately regretted it. First of all the food. The food here has always been good not amazing but good especially for the price but now just like everything else has gone up in price but the food is just as mediocre. Its not about the price don't get me wrong but only if the food justifies it. The burger visually looked good but tasted like it was unseasoned and just thrown on the grill. What was mostly disturbing is the condition of the building itself. When I was seated I decided to look around to see the floors dirty and table weren't the best. What was concerning was the ceiling. Not sure if its mold or just water stains but regardless it looked disgusting and covered most of the ceiling. Then I saw a server come to the kitchen and asked to smell something to see if it was good to then nodded their head no. That tells me as someone that worked in a restaurant before that they aren't properly labeling their food for our safety. Just know that I won't be coming back here ever again.

Breakfast 24/7/365. That’s all you need to know. Update 08.12.2024 — Our last time at Jim’s (hildebrand san pedro) was the last time ever. The eggs were overcooked, twice. The hash browns were limp and warm. The waitress acted like she hadn’t earned a tip in a couple years; service was not Jim’s friendly. I’ve been going to this Jim’s since the early 80s, when smoking was OK in the entire restaurant. Then, when the smoking nazis took over, this Jim’s had its own smoked-choked room. As a tppd smoker, the distinct, unpleasant smell of stale cigarettes and stale air was never too offensive for me. But it was disgusting. I have plenty of memories for that specific Jim’s and am sad that the Jim’s Restaurants empire is irretrievably broken.

They need to spend some money and upgrade the place, it's in a prime location with some really good food and attentive service but it needs a makeover to attract more folks.

Tipped waitress 30%. She was great and order was perfect. Thing that had me, she didn't write anything down for two different orders. She must have written it down for the cook later. Amazing!
