Bandera Rd Cafe Patron - Helotes

JMJ. Hello, San Antonio! I was prompted by Facebook to write a review. I’ve lived in San Antonio my whole life, and I’m 66 years old. There are some hidden gem Mexican restaurants around, but this one is the real deal—an authentic home-style restaurant. It’s simply the best. Just take a look at Henry's Puffy Tacos; that's capitalism at its finest! The competition is fierce! Just a little hint: there’s a place in Hills and Dales that’s definitely worth checking out.

Our server was quick and friendly, and our food arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious! The restaurant is well-maintained and clean. I noticed that the parking lot can get a bit chaotic after 9 PM due to the To-Go line, which can block some parking spaces, so be cautious if you're visiting at that time. The tacos were fantastic! The manager was also friendly, polite, and provided us with plenty of information when we inquired about hosting an event there.

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is fantastic, and the staff is wonderful! They have the best homemade tortillas, both flour and corn!

My parents for lunch after my nephew baseball game. Everything was delicious and our server was great. Wonderful little town Helote's atmosphere!! Another customer came to thank my father for his service in the military and bought his lunch for him!! Dear Helotes!
