Mackenzie River Pizza Co. - Helena

Amazing pizza was the price just high because I drank some beer. I have recommended the hot hawaiian and in any case. small is a decent size for 1 person if they don't want any rest.

Service was excellent and food was good. Prices were very hight but that is the way of it. Knocked off a star because it took a very long time to get our food despite their not being a full house.

Lunch special option was good, half sandwich or small pizza with a salad or other starter. The spinach salad was delicious and substantial, with candied pecans and dried cranberries. The only downside was it took a while to even get the salad, which I assume was due to staffing issues. I'll try again though, because it's convenient.

The pizza tastes great but the crust is only half done. There is quite a bit of crust left that should have had toppings on. Vegetables need to be cut up, not thrown on as if ordering a sandwich. Had an amazing server but it was hard not to notice that she needed more help.

Since Covid has started, many restaurants have had struggles with staffing. MacKenzie River may fall into that category. I have visited this location a few times this year. Each time, I have had a delay in getting our food. Today, the parking lot was half full and staffing looked like they had plenty of personnel. Also in today's economy, You can look to spend almost $100 for a family of 5. It is what it is. However, with having to spend the money, a customer should expect excellent service and good food. Service was very poor. After taking our order, we needed to call out to our server for service. The only time we were asked how everything was, was when we received our bill. Unfortunately, our food was cold when we received it. Cardinal rule, don't send your food back to the kitchen. Helena already has a poor reputation for choices in restaurants. MacKenzie River has an easy opportunity to have a positive reputation due to the lack of competition. But the quality that was provided today, It won't take much to turn people away.
