Sat outside and heard live music. Asked if they could turn off the (god awful) canned music. They couldn't. Then came the check...with the credit card surcharge. I hate being nickel and dimed. Skip this place.
These beautiful thick chops had a lovely juicy smoke, almost zero fat margin and petite bones. Must have been a very special pig. One is coming home with me for tomorrow night. The potato salad is yummy, and the red cabbage a nice counterpoint. I doubt you could do better than the Heidelberg in Helen. Thank you!
Was one of the few places open after 8pm in March. For wasn 't terrible. We both had sausage platters with two sides, plus an extra side. And an appetizer before hand. With the exception of the 4 grilled sausages, everything was lukewarm. Not even warm. The sausages were hot. And the portions were large on everything. But the potato salad, spatzle, cabbage, fries, sauerkraut, Krautkrapfen, and gravy (which defeated the point of the sausages being hot) were barely above room temperature. Plus, there was an odd service charge , of around 6-7% added. The only disclaimer i saw on the menu was the standard 18% (i think) will be added to parties of 6 or more . There were two of us. It was 4 or 5 dollars. The money isn 't the issue, we would 've (and did) tip more than that anyways, just seems shady. And we both spent a little extra time in the bathroom that night as well. We won 't be back.
Amazing German food!!! Definitely worth the visit!! The German potato salad, red cabbage and sauerkraut were among my favorites!
Food was just “ok”. Way overpriced. $70 for two people. The restaurant has an old musty smell inside. Our waitress was not the friendliest. Go to another German restaurant. This one is in the heart of everything but looks are definitely deceiving here for sure. The food taste like it is not fresh.
