Restaurant `S` Kastanie - Heidelberg

The restaurant is located in a former clubhouse and is beautifully located. the waitress seems to be nice and at the arrival she wanted to show us our table. but after talking to the cook, she informed us that just recently. a call came and now all tables are booked. maybe all the tables were booked. I can't say it. at the time of our arrival (2:30 o'clock mostly not a typical time when the Germans went out at lunchtime) were three tables occupied and we were not overrun by a crowd when we left the restaurant. the restaurant seems to have more than four tables. an acceptance could be that we were not dressed propely as we were to wander. another reason could be that we saw the place with two small children who were very hungry after the hike and were looking forward to eating. the restaurant could have great eating (I can't rate it), but the beening in an almost empty restaurant was very disappointingly rejected! customer-oriented service looks different and a family-friendly restaurant would have found a solution. Luckily, the restaurant is located near the city heidelberg, where you will find many restaurants with better service.

Despite missing employees in times of corona everything was good and our club meeting with about 45 people was a full success. the team was attentive and friendly for the guests.

Service: waiter did not give the right people their order, were left to fall, serve was not good. I pointed out that the court they were placed before me was not the right one and the waiter told me that I was wrong that he was. it turned down, that is what they ordered.... until more people got the wrong court and he had mixed the tables, no excuses were given. environment: cheap flowers on the table that did not fit, a bit too rustic for me in view of the haute cuisine they tried to do eat: not happy, my friend got the same main dishes and we had very different amounts on our tellers. just because they arrange a lonely aspargus diagonally on my teller, it doesn't make good eating. completely underwhelmed by the quality of food, combination and presentation price: too high for what was served

This restaurant is not in the middle of the old town it is above the castle. very nice romantic place with good food and a bit flair. they have a series of directed with wild boar and wild boar. we both had their consommes as starters. very good! my wife decided to poison because she could always have lammed. I tried the fried gnocchi with bark strips. we both enjoyed our dinner. we could also drink 2 half liters of riesling karaffe and end with strudel. very pleasant evening! the total invoice was 80 euro.

I have been here several times on Wednesdays with my friend Heidrun and some other friends when we have got together for lunch.
