The steaks don’t come with sides so you have to order separately but they are worth it. Mashed potato is my favorite, fries are also perfectly cooked. We also ordered pork ribs which I feel is a dish thats easily hit or miss but here is definitely a hit! Worth a little bit of detour to have dinner outside of city center.
It's an OK place, the food was good but service definitely needs improvement especially at these prices, the ambiance could use some work, the restaurant has an identity crisis, can't decide if it wants to be more upscale or casual
After a team event we had a dinner at this nice restaurant. It is near to the train station so easy to get there. We had space at the seasonal terrace it was a little bit crowded, so I recommend to make a reservation. I strongly recommend this place if you like grilled meat!
The Heid ́s is not located in the centre of Heidelberg, but is easily accessible by foot or by car (parking plate). A reservation is recommended, just if you want to sit outside. We went spontaneously there and were lucky that there was another table free. After a little longer waiting period, we were assigned to this. In addition to the entrance area there is also the counter behind which the chefs prepare the food. That's how it goes. Overall, the restaurant is harmoniously furnished, not fully stuffed with decoration, clean and in the rear area also quieter than in the front. The table was covered with beautiful plaid fabric napkins in which the cutlery was bundled and was held together with a banderole. There was also a lonely candle, but it was not lit (at least at our table). The menu offers many varieties of steaks, salads, fish dishes (from 20,80€ , wood oven pizza (from 8,80€ , some appetizers (from 12€ , children's dishes, pasta and desserts (from 5,20€). Vegetarians do not necessarily come to their expense. The lady from the service was very nice, but we had to wait very long until we could even order drinks. Also the second beverage order went to length after we had posted our empty glasses at the table edge, the service saw this and asked if everything was okay...Also we had to fight for attention to be paid. There were house-baked bread from the wood stove, still warm, wonderfully crispy. “Here you can dip some bread with oil and salt.” We would have liked to have done if we had got oil and salt (as we could see at the neighboring table). The man chose U.S. high rib (400g, 29,80€ on Mediterranean grilled vegetables with cream carrots, pepper sauce, cajunbutter and steakhouse sponges (with these supplements all meat dishes are served, there are still selections of potato purees or Spanish potatoes. The pepper sauce I found very tasty, really good peppery, the man was not so enthusiastic. The vegetable supplements were fine (men and vegetables... . The pommes were, however, very sweetly seasoned and could have been a bit browner. It was nice, however, that they were served separately and so could not pass through what kept the subtle crispy. I chose pink roasted bavette on salads (14,50€). The meat was perfectly fried and incredibly delicate. The salad consisted mainly of red and green leaf salads, a strawberry, two chicorée leaves, some cress and a cherry tomato. But twice as much Vinaigrette as it would have been necessary for the portion. Why I got the garlic dip, I don't know, he didn't fit the meat, and there was no bread for salad. Conclusion: More appearance than being? I don't want to say that either. However, the restaurant already conveys the impression of something “hearted”, which is quite important. However, it should also be noted that the service meets the impression. The prices are not without, for good quality you would like to pay, but then the supplements should also vote if the meat is already delivered in the top condition.
