I called yesterday afternoon to confirm my pickup time and long story short, was told they couldn’t do the event for me. What?!?!? I called two restaurants and they couldn’t help me. I called Flour Girl and they bailed me out. Everyone at my meeting commented on how great the food was. THANK UOU THANK YOU Flour Girl. My “ big” boss was with me from NYC and said “ You should buy the food from Flour Girl for meetings whenever you can. Jen Miller Humanscale Rep
Very good food. I bought some breakfast sandwiches for the crew. They were made quickly and were delicious. Probably going back for lunch.
It does not make sense for one with a gluten sensitivity to go into a cafe called the Flour Girl Cafe, but if you say 'flour out loud, it sounds ilke flower, so, whatevah, guy. My goal was to coffee, coffee, coffee as Lorelai Gilmore does. Not bagel, bagel, bagel as others may do. But the Flour Girl Cafe is a curiosity, because for such a rural part of Connecticut, it has quite the independent spirit. And for a town to *support* a business like this, as Hebron is not a population center, is indicative of a healthy town spirit. The Flour Girl Cafe is sorely needed in places like Fort Fairfield, Maine, or a town center outside of the more urbane areas of a Southern region. It feels like a place where everyone can gather. Where people are welcome. It kind of reminded me of Star 's Hollow from Gilmore Girls. Star 's Hollow is modelled after a town in CT called Washington, which is west of Hartford, while Hebron is east of Hartford, but the feel of a town center is there. I parked in a lot and walked along a brick addled sidewalk towards the Flour Girl Cafe to get my coffee. Approaching it was wonderful, because you could see a lot of what the town of Hebron has to offer. But once I got in, there was a variety of places to sit, menu options to pick from, and a display case that would allow a glutenous customer to select from. A coffee was purchased here, hehe. But one can see where the time flies by when visiting Flour Girl Cafe. I recommend that you stop by here with a friend to see what Connecticut has to offer. Choose something from their menu, grab a beverage and walk along the town center. It has the feel of a quiet town, but it also feels like it welcomes everyone who might need a bite to eat, or at least, a coffee to drink.
Great little café! This is my first visit, but I’m sure I’ll be back. I had the Roast Beef Panini. Outstanding! I also had the Shaken Maple Espresso. Delicious! The inside is very clean. Too much pink for my taste(I prefer black . Super service by the young ladies behind the counter! Check it out!!
My sister and I ordered a caprese panini and a side of macaroni salad to go. The cashier handed us our bag standing straight up and not flat. We opened the box and the entire sandwich was wet and in pieces in the box. The bread was completely soggy. The sandwich was disgusting. We are in Hebron once a week for lunch. Mostly will not return.
