The Dish - Heathmont

This is a nice newish Thai restaurant in Heathmont. We had a banquet and there was more tahn enough food. The restaurant has friendly staff but we did have to wait for quite a while to order our meals. The food was well prepared and quite tasty. Worth a visit.

Ok so I thought I would try an order over the phone for one. Ordered the meal from the web site, arrived to be told that the price a $1 more than the web site price, I can live with that. However then told couldn't tap and go unless order was over $20, nothing on the web site to reflect this. When I got my meal home found it was seriously lacking in ingredients. So what has prompted to write about my experience is that I like to support local business and with this particular Restaurant I booked with a group of friends within the opening week to show our support, the service was seriously lacking and we had to wait way too long, happy to overlook this as well. However, most of the table ordered a banquet and I think one person ordered separately, so what happened is the single dish was not recognised as a single dish and was consumed by the people who had ordered the banquet as they didn't know the difference. In the future I will travel to another suburb for a better experience to avoid disappointment and constant poor service and misinformed outdated advertisements. I have purchased from here in the past and been satisfied but I get the feeling the deterioration is slowly setting in, this is confirmed by the numbers I observed on a Thursday Night. All I'm saying is choose wisely.

Great food from just a small local restaurant . Nice setting but the food and staff are the standouts. Every fish that came to the table (10 friends) was amazing . I personally had the coconut prawns and only down side was the small amount of sauce but my main course was perfect . Panang chicken curry, spicy but balanced perfectly .Would have liked to have been offered coffee or dessert but we were the last in the restaurant so obviously time was against us . Biggest downfall is lack of parking but Heathmont station is close by so that is where we had to park as outside is limited to 2 hour parking . Definite repeat customer here

The food was quite good. A bit more spicier than on previous occasions. The service was disappointing. We were having a banquet and when it came to the 5 main course dishes, they were all brought out at once when some dishes from the entrees were still on the table. It would have been better for the mains also to be delivered at different times. Also dessert was served when all the plates from dinner were still on the table.

The food is very good and the décor in the restaurant is lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
