The Pulled Chicken Sandwich = dry overcooked chicken on a likewise dry bungalow. Smothered? Here's a bottle of Bbq sauce. Food did not come as described and cold. The only thing worse than the food (except the pineapple casrole that was excellent) was the service. From the time we arrived and ordered water as our drinks, the server apparently wrote us out. Remember, we were there before-dinner rush, and were the only customers on this page. 25 minutes to get our food and another 15 to get the items that were ordered but not brought out. When we tried to order Dessert, we were told that he didn't think there were any desserts, but when I mentioned that the peanut butter cake was on the special board at the Hostess station, he said he would look. More than 15 minutes before he returns and tells us that there is no cake and alternatives. We'll give them up and ask for the check and a box. Wait more, but when he returns with the bill, he immediately asked for payment. Maybe they were busy, or maybe he just wanted to delete our table to get another person in the booth; I don't know. Overall, it was a bad experience. We had high expectations from the menu and were disappointed by the food quality that was deteriorated only by the extremely slow and apathic service.
Save the sticker shock when your bill arrives. I stay close to a hotel and checked the menu online. Decided to go over and get a brisket. The online menu said $13.99. When I got there, all the menus had a thin white tiny band at the top say how the price of everything is an extra $2. So I assumed it was $15.99. When I got my bill (see attached), the price of my meal was almost $24. They even added $2 to the salad bar (which I replaced for one of my pages) although the menus say $4.99. Then I paid a $50 bill. The waitress brings me back. I told her I wanted my 76 cents. At this point it was the principle of the matter. For the time and effort they invested to change all their menus with this small white stripe paper, they would simply have printed new menus that were not misleading. I just thought they pulled a gun on me and asked me about my wallet when I came in and gave me the time. I gave the waitress a $5 tip. My meal cost me almost $35 for me alone. Eight slices of brisket, a tiny bowl of beans, a rolls, a trip to the salad bar and a beer. And then, if you look at the receipt, do you charge extra for payment with a card??? What kind of restaurant costs a different price between cash and my card? Think about it. Talk about a nickel and dime facility. Go somewhere else.
By far the best BBQ I have ever had. Ribs just fell off the bone, and the steak was incredible. I could talk about every side, but they were all fantastic. First time I have ever heard of Pineapple casserole, and I will be dreaming about it now. Our server Jacklyn was amazing, she gave us Washingtonians A+ treatment. If I ever find myself back in Kentucky I will make sure to find my way back to Big Blue Smokehouse.
I was expecting yummy buns but they were dry tasted cheap
The food is okay. The atmosphere is nice but could improve on the menu. Some items needed salt. But it was an okay place.
