Back to food itself, it was the worst stream rice we ever had in a Japanese place, which was too watery and stuck together. Won't come back again.
Setting is nice and price is affordable. Meals were average at best. Was somewhat disappointed and other members meals were poor. Dirty tables everywhere.
My family visited this place yesterday. I had to write this review to warn others. The tables were dirty. The floor was dirty and staff rude. We ordered a wagu beef bento box each $12.90. The 4 pieces of meat was large chunks and I am guessing either re cooked or chuck steak. We chewed and chewed however couldn't break it up to swallow. They didn't ask if we wanted a drink. We would have bought three ice coffees at $5 each. I don't think she could be bothered making them. Instead she brought three plastic cups with room temp water in different sizes that were so scratched they looked like they had been found on the tram line. They took ages to bring the food out also. Windows were dirty and outside a dead pigeon lay on the roof. This place used to be fantastic. They have lost their charm. I felt sick afterwards.
I had high hopes for this place. The decor looked nice, the pictures in the menu looked enticing, the price seemed very reasonable. But, after giving it a go, i was disappointed. Some of the pictures were misleading. I ordered the teriyaki chicken udon and the green tea latte. The latte looked different to the pictures in the menu, however, i did enjoy it. As for my udon, that was deplorable. When it came out, the spoon was oily and had a slimey coating, the chicken was riddled with bones on top of being the chewiest i have ever had. The broth was just salty water and had no teriyaki flavour. I couldnt finish my meal, infact i tried to eat as little as i could but i had not eaten much that day and i was starving. None of my family enjoyed their meals either. The edemame we got for entree had a few bad beans in there. All of this on top of the staff barely being able to speak English meanibg the service came across as abrupt. The only thing saving this from 1 star is the decor and drinks. It really was a shame as this place looked promising
The food court across from it was crazy busy so my wife, daughter and I decided to give Poporo a go. In Japanese cuisine we normally get a Bento or Ramen. This time I tried the seafood daria. It was just amazing. Fresh seafood in a creamy cheese sauce over a bed of rice. Add to that the very comfortable booth seating. We will be back.
