Rooms are cute and comfortable, there’s tables outside in a courtyard and you’re right around the corner from a coffee shop, stores and a few restaurants. There’s a microwave and water in the lobby and fridge in your room. The front desk was very kind and had an iron and ironing board available for me to use. If staff aren’t present, just give them a call. They’re here in the day but it’s just you and other guests at night. Checking in and out is easy, just use the code they provide in the email and you have access to your room. Check out you just leave by 10 or 11am. I don’t have cable at home, so it was nice to watch tv in comfy bed after a fun filled day, loads of channels. Only thing I’d recommend is they have lamps with power outlets or charging ports. We had to move the plug for the fridge and charge one phone at a time. Not a huge deal at all, just a thought.
Great stay with easy self check-in. The walls were a little thin, but a very pleasant stay otherwise.
No reception bare minimum room for the price expected a little more. Last day when tried to get back in room after going for coffee combination lock wouldn't open door so luckily I left window open so took screen off and climbed through window as know one around to help. All in all bad experience.
We paid $211/night total for Sun-Tue in January with queen bed. Rooms very comfortable, clean and well-maintained for an older place. Strange pillows seemed to want to inflate themselves, but not a big issue. Large grounds included event space. Outdoor picnic tables in a quiet courtyard setting. Contactless check-in/out worked fine. Quiet, near main drag in Hawi. Great bird noises at night.Location is excellent (I.e., short drive) for whale watching on NW coast of big island (Kapa’a Beach Park especially). Also close to Pololū gorge for a great hike. Dinner options somewhat limited based on hours and days open, but it’s a tiny town. Breakfast and lunch more available. Great coffee shop in town (Kohala Coffee Mill).I’d go there again.
Great for the independent traveler. There is staff on site during the day but at night it's just you and the other guests. They email your room number and code to open your room the day of. There is a microwave and water dispenser in the main lobby and the rooms include a fridge although they are unplugged when you arrive to conserve energy they do cool fairly quickly though. There are several picnic benches with umbrellas both in the courtyard and out front to enjoy. The sheets are incredibly soft and overall the rooms have all your basic necessities. My first time here but our friend usually stays here when in Hawi and we see why. Also the hotel is located steps away from the local downtown with food and shops although beware there isn't much food available after 5pm sometimes after 2 or 3 pm. One enhancement would be to add additional plugs for charging phones and devices possibly swapping the lamps for one that have chargers.
