Golden Lion - Havering

Book here for our Christmas work party and all I can say is how great the food was. Everyone commented how lovely the food was. Really was a great night out.

Golden Lion does an excellent quiz on Thursdays. Staff are very friendly. Pub serves excellent ales

Reece and the staff were great. Many thanks for an enjoyable evening. As a frequent visitor I’m pleased to say it’s always a pleasure to spend time in the pub.

I went to this restaurant for lunch with a friend on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. When I placed our order, I was informed that there might be a delay in food preparation due to a party taking place upstairs. After waiting for about 45 minutes with no food in sight, I inquired at the bar. To my surprise, our meals were found sitting in the lift. They were brought to us, but unfortunately they were cold and inedible. I asked for a refund, which was reluctantly given. To my dismay, the bar manager insisted that I pay for a pint of Peroni that was supposed to be included in a meal deal, deducting it from the original bill. I received no apology or explanation, leaving me unimpressed with the overall experience.

Mazing experience we had fish and chips with mushy peas and honestly I haven’t had a decent pub meal like that in a long time. My friend had the katsu chicken and said the curry sauce was to die for. I’ve been there a few times and never thought to leave a review but the new management recently has really started to give the place a new lease of life. Will 10/10 recommend to my friends communiting through the area
