J J Texas BBQ - Havelock

Brisket's pretty good. Pepper jacket Mac and cheese is also quite good. Come back when I'm ever back in these parts.

As we get out around Havelock, we decided to stop for lunch. We chose the meat sample plate we arrived. Each sample was delicious in its own way. I liked the smoked chicken and smoked brisket. The Cole Slav and Mac n cheese were a supplement to the meat plate. A rustic place to enjoy some delicious food. We always enjoy this place.

The first time I came here, the workers told me about the 5 meat sampler who was 25$ with 1lbs of all meats, so that 5lbs are all together, and that was only last year that feed me and my girlfriend and then some and only recently revisit it is 29$, but with less meat... SMH Nie again 60$ for What and a waste of gas too....

Eat here for the first time. The Brisket Sandwich was great! The service was on site and the dining area was not too crowded. I'll go back to try the pulled pig. Just got 3 stars because I didn't try on the menu anymore. Convenient stop while driving Highway 70.

Not very good bbq. Meats had no flavor. They needed a rub or salt or something. Chicken was very rubbery and fatty and it covered in slimy soot. Would definitely not recommend it to an out of towner looking for good bbq.
