Maxine's Bar Restaurant Hastings

The personal was professional and friendly, but not intrusive. lage was beautiful. Generally, eating was O.K., but they believe that the cakes were left from the weekend. lemon cake was tasty, but gummy and did not care about the baked goods that were more soggy. the scones were very heavy and spicy. was not resurrected and light as scenes should be. brot was very fresh and the sandwiches had plenty of filling. considering the cost of £40 for two this could have been better!

Eating was good, but service a little slow to begin with. there was a smell of manage from the stables near.

My visit here was absolutely shocking if I had rated it as 0. first, after the booking in the mai and twice before coming, including this morning (day of booking), we have for our afternoon for the staff, not even know that we come. the table was not ready and they had pressed us around 2 small tables until we had to bring another over us, even though we were only 2 other people in the opposite where we were. after the last drinks, the waiter drop serves a tablet of knife and forks over a 2 month old baby. if this had not been bad enough, we then waited 40 minutes for a pre-booked afternoon tee, just to discover it had not been done at all. the waiter disappeared at the bar, until the point where two other paying customers did not have to return their coffee and find the waiter himself. the icing came on the cake when we were served our afternoon tea, just to find our sandwiches on old stale bread. I am absolutely disgusting at the service and eat of this place, I will tell everyone to avoid. there were no compensatory efforts, and a great complaint goes to bannatyne's office. for a high standard restaurant this is absolutely acceptable.

Very disappointed, as for afternoon tea and expected table at arrival in the bar asked if we wanted drinks menu, when we said again that we had booked the afternoon, said sitting on high chairs and table sandwiches that was not suitable as we, where 2 older people sat so on the table that had not to be served big enough for afternoon tea, so that table at the best since

Meal was great 3rd time here .but menu needs to have more choice only a few dishes to choose from
