The pool was cold and dirty (including the pool side, nothing looked cleaned) the hot tub was cold, the changing rooms were dirty (piles of towels everywhere, puddles of water all over the floor). The sauna had screws sticking out and i felt i was going to fall through the timber, it looked so worn. The steam room was out of order. The massage was great, but everything else let the experience down. I don’t understand how this experience was £155. I thought Spa days were meant to be relaxing, but I felt like I was at my local leisure centre. Groups of people chatting loudly by and in the pool, swimming lessons being conducted and toddlers running around the cold hot tub. Made it very uncomfortable to sit there. Emailed the spa team since returning twice and received no replies. Feel completely cheated. £155 for something not even worth £40 on groupon
Beautiful setting and lovely hotel room. Unfortunately we have had a very poor service since, however. We were woken up at 3.30am and then again at 6.30am by music from the restaurant which had been left on all night. When we raised this with the management the next day, we were promised a complimentary night's stay to use in the future but sadly we never received details of this and, despite contacting the hotel numerous times, we have found it incredibly difficult to speak to anyone, and no one has responded to our emails. Really disappointing service.
Room was fine. Toilet was a bit broken. The road going round to our room was bad with holes. All of the staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there. Dinner service was poor. Not really any leadership around for the young girls they were doing their best but far more training is needed for table service. A few around us also complained. Sauna was broken, showers were broken. Swimming pool felt grainy/Sandy when standing on the floor. Great location, nice and peaceful. Just needs some TLC across the board.
Went for a spa day and afternoon tea. Spa was fithy pool was freezing no basic facilities and cold water in the showers so couldn't even shower after.Staff not interested. Beauty Treatment area was slightly better and afternoon tea in the main. Hotel restaurant was nice but service slow.Didn't stay overnight thank goodness. Got the impression they hotel was being done up for wedding season.
Had the most amazing gluten free afternoon tea as part of a spa package at Lythe Hill hotel you would need to book in advance, was so impressed with the choice of scones (larger than the normal ones! and cakes, sandwiches were out of this world too! Highly recommend!
